RS-6 Impaler was a reusable, semi-automatic, single barrel cannon with a top-loading six-round magazine. It fired a single explosive projectile at a low velocity, short range and a high-arcing ballistic trajectory.
The cannon was destroyed in an accident on April 1st, 2012 when the propellant got stuck in the magazine and didn't reach its desired compartment. Under tremendous pressure, the propellant then disintegrated and caused the whole magazine to explode. No one got killed nor injured in the accident.
